This Used 2018 Gibson Custom Shop J-185 Original Acoustic-Electric in Vintage Sunburst is here on trade. The neck is straight, the original frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original Gibson Hardshell Case. The finish on this guitar requires some description. It's got some of that Classic Gibson orange peel going on along with a bit of finish sinking. I'd say the guitar must have dried out a bit at some point, though it's bounced back fantastically. There are a fair amount of swirl marks all over the body as well, indicating a less than gentle buffing at some point. It plays incredibly well, sounds great too, but the looks department is where it leaves a bit to be desired. We'd suggest coming to the shop to see this one in person to make sure its cosmetics won't get to you.
The Gibson J-185 has been a staple of the acoustic guitar realm for decades. Smaller than a Super Jumbo so it's a bit more manageable, but still features the Sitka Spruce and Maple tonewood comb that many of us know and love. This guitar has a dry, focused tone, perfect for singing along with. It's well balanced with a brilliant top-end, perfect present mid-range, and round, hollow-sounding low-end response.
The neck is made from Mahogany and carved to a medium C neck profile. The fingerboard is bound, made of rosewood, and features a 12" fingerboard radius. Split Parallelogram Fingerboard Inlays from Mother of Pearl elevate the look to the next level. The bridge is also made from Rosewood and features Cross Inlays on both sides.
