This Used 1972 Gibson Les Paul Recording Electric Guitar in Natural is here on trade. The guitar is in nice shape for its age. The body has some dings, dents, small chips, and typical playwear as well as some buckle rash on the back that doesn't make it through the finish. The body features 'pancake' construction and there is some raised finish along the seam. The neck is straight and the truss is functioning properly. The guitar was likely refretted as the fingerboard binding 'nibs' are no longer intact, however, it features the wide and rather low frets you'd expect to see on guitars from this era. Included is its original hardshell case.
This was the instrument choice for Les Paul, himself! It is "All Original" except for a replacement pickguard from many years ago and the frets. It had strap locks on it which we replaced with new Gibson era correct strap buttons. It was originally ordered with a matching Les Paul Triumph Bass which we also have here in the store! The guitar and bass are only 10 serial numbers apart!
The Les Paul Recording features perhaps the most sophisticated and versatile electronics ever devised and executed by Gibson. Navigating them takes some getting used to but once you understand the intentions Les Paul had behind this guitar, its wealth of electronic options makes this a supremely cool guitar no matter the scenario!
