This WAS, hands down, a shop favorite. The Baja Tele takes the best parts of a 50's era Telecaster and blends them with modern specs. For the money we have never found a better playing, better sounding guitar that comes with a nice fat maple neck!
Fender has Mastebuilder Chris Fleming designed this beast then head down to Ensenada to help show the guys how to elevate this model to the next level... and everyone NAILED IT! The pickups in this guitar sound amazing, The neck is beyond comfortable. The hardware is perfectly chosen for the Classic Tele Guy. The only thing missing on this model is a Plek Fret Dress and a Real Bone Nut! Did you know we can help with both those things?
I love the neck on this guitar and most Tele Guys do too. It's Fat, nice and Fat. They call it a Soft V, I'd call it a Super Soft V. Some hands won't feel a V at all. The fingerboard is shaped to a 9.5" radius and topped with medium jumbo frets for a seriously playable guitar no matter the genre or position.
One crucial component to getting the feel and tone out of a Tele is having that Steel Bridge loaded with a set of Brass Saddles. This helps make the bridge pickup an absolute monster! The sweetness and musicality of Brass is preferable to steel by many as steel can come across bright and brash.
The unconventional Telecaster fan will appreciate the unconventional style of the Classic Player Baja Telecaster. Designed by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Chris Fleming, it looks like a traditional Tele®, but boasts several mods that transform it into a full-voiced true Classic Player, such as Custom Shop-designed pickups, special tone circuitry and switching, and more.
