This Used Fender Custom Shop Artisan Thinline Telecaster Natural Cocobolo is here on consignment and it is flat out STUNNING! It is in fantastic shape with nothing negative worth mentioning. The guitar comes from a very large collection where it saw less than a few hours of playing time. The neck is straight, the original frets are still crowned and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original certificate of authenticity and hardshell case.
Tired of the same old Tele? Well, make sure to check out all the pics of this impressive instrument that demonstrates the Fender Custom Shop's ability to take things up a few notches! This Tele is part of the Artisan Series which typically relies on more exotic woods than ash, alder, and maple. This Thinline Tele features a Cocobolo Top, a revered, expensive, and beautiful tonewood that is sought after by luthiers and players alike. Around the edge of the top, we have a Herringbone Style Inlay. This is typically found on acoustic guitars though we are completely sold seeing on this electric. This could, should, and WILL be something we order in the future!
The Cocobolo Top sits atop a Fiji Mahogany Body. The exotic-ness packed within that simple statement is practically overwhelming! The 2 piece body was selected for its beauty and the folks at the Fender Custom Shop did a splendid job! The body is chambered significantly for a Semi-Hollow design which not only relieves weight but adds strength to the guitar's acoustic tones and adds a nice cushy low-end pillow for the bell-like highs to sit upon. Tasty!
The neck is shaped to a 63 C profile and is made from AAA-rated, Roasted Birdseye Maple so it has that heat-treated tint to it, and thanks to the unique figuring, it has some serious depth. The figuring looks fantastic in playing position. Speaking of looking great, this African Blackwood Fingerboard has me all a-flutter! Dark, Dense, and Rich looking, this toneful wood falls somewhere between Ebony and Rosewood. The fingerboard radius is shaped to 9.5" and it is loaded with twenty-one 6105 frets.
The pickups are a set of Handwound Loaded '51 Nocaster Singe-Coils with an Open Neck Pickup cover. This is a sweet set of pickups in which the neck pickup does not sound muted thanks to the open cover design. They are still very much a Nocaster Sounding Pickup but that has a little more oomph, grease, pizzazz, all that! A master volume, master tone, and 3-way pickup selector switch round out the electronics.
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
