This Used Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Ancho Poblano Stratocaster Relic by Dale Wilson in Aged White Blonde over Two-Tone Sunburst is in on consignment and it is in great shape. The neck is straight, the frets are still crown, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
Dale Wilson has been producing Relic's lately that John Myatt would be proud of. That's the dude who tricked Sotheby's and Christie's with his own versions of priceless pieces of art. Next to actual vintage pieces, they are very hard to tell apart.
Hand-wound Ancho Poblano pickups take the heat from the Texas Specials and mix it with a more classic, vintage vibe. The bridge pickup has some sizzle, perfect for driving a tube amp to brown-town. Turn down the volume a bit and you get a nice sweet, warm tone with less teeth that sits in the mix very well. The neck pickup is fat and creamy with low end that retains definition even when played through a distortion pedal. The 2 and 4 spots have an excellent quack to them. Proving excellent for that Texas Blues tone.
For all you Tele guys looking for a Strat, the neck profile is the fat Nocaster U shape. If you like a neck that feels substantial in your hands or in the immortal words of Spinal Tap Manager Ian Faith "Certainly, in the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful," then you will love this neck!
This guitar features aged white blonde over 2 tone sunburst. A common practice at the old Fender factory was to spray a finish-over-finish to meet a custom order. Dale Wilson's relic job is extraordinarily authentic. It's hard to tell his relic's apart from a vintage instrument! Dings, dents, weather checking, belt rash, all the stuff you'd expect to see on an old #1 is here! The neck is stripped of lacquer for a smooth and dry feel that is never tacky and won't slow you down.
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
