This Fender Custom Shop 60 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic in Sonic Blue is here on consignment. It is a 2019 Model and it is still in fantastic shape. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
An Alder body is finished in Sonic Blue and then lightly relic'ed. This is a classic Fender Color, part of what I call Fender's Pastel Collection, a soft blue that we have been stocking for decades. The Journeyman Relic process involves less wear and tear and is just beyond the cusp of a Closet Classic. If heavily distressed guitars ain't your thing, the Journeyman Relic is a thing of beauty!
This straight-forward 1960s Strat is built for the player! A comfy 60s C Shaped Neck Profile is topped with AAA Rosewood and a 9.5" fingerboard radius. This is pretty typical for a Strat neck from the 60s with a depth of .792" in the 1st position and of .930" at the 12th fret. 25.5" Scale length, 1.650" nut width, and a bone nut round out the important details.
A set of hand-wound 1960s Stratocaster pickups are installed. They compliment the alder, maple, rosewood combo perfectly! These pickups are warm but not dark, smooth but not boring, and offer a variety of tones that range from biting in the bridge to round and hollow in the neck. The pickups are tied to a master volume, 2 tone controls, and a 5-way switch.
