This Used 2002 PRS EB-4 Bass in Two-Tone Sunburst w/OHSC is here on consignment. It is in clean cosmetic condition and the bass is fully functioning. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the bass is the original hardshell case. The backplate on the guitar is signed by Paul Reed Smith with a friendly personal message to whomever this bass was originally built for.
Built in 2002, this EB-4 from PRS is one of those instruments that makes people say, "Oh... PRS makes basses? Since when?" Since a long time ago, Silly! While the company is best known for its Electric Guitars, their contributions to the acoustic guitar, amplifier, and bass worlds are all noteworthy! This bass is great-looking, plays fantastically, and has a different than typical P or J thang' going on.
One cool feature that is very useful is the passive/active functionality that the mini switch provides. Go from smooth and warm to slapping and thumping at the flick of a switch.
An ultra-comfy and gorgeous neck makes this bass a joy to play. Both the neck and fingerboard feature lots of figuring of the flamed sort. The Abalone Bird Inlays in the Figured Maple Fingerboard only take things further. The fingerboard radius is 10" and the scale length is 34". The neck measures in at .813" at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th fret.
The body is made from Alder and has a figured maple cap on it. This adds depth to its look and some top end to its tone. The two-tone sunburst compliments the figured maple perfectly and doesn't step on the figuring too much like some bursts.
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
