This Tom Anderson Cobra S features a cool bottom to top burst or fade called Black Surf. I always think of Gibson SG Supreme or some great PRS bottom to top finishes, and this one is equally as cool! From trans white to a deep black over a Quilted Maple Top, this is an interesting top made only cooler by an interesting finish.
In terms of the electronics, we have the H 1-: The perfect neck pickup to balance with the H2+ or H2 at the bridge, full, throaty neck humbucker tones that are never bloated, open, clear and rich, splits really well. H 2+: Perhaps Tom Anderson's most popular bridge humbucker. Not too hot, not too cold but just right with a big low end. Full mids without giving up all the highs and lows. A master volume, master tone, each with their own push-pull control for coil-tapping, allows for the perfect blend of functionality and versatility.
We have classic tonewoods blended together here. The Quilted Maple Top sits on a Mahogany body, a classic Gibson Combo. The neck is made from Mahogany and has a nice Rosewood Fingerboard on it. This recipe blends perfectly for traditional humbucker tones: fat, warm, rich, dark. Plus, the woods selected are top-notch. High grade woods were chosen so this guitar is not only beautiful but it is also lightweight at only 7 lbs 4 oz.
