This instrument is a sight to behold and a charm to hear! An original 1968 Martin D-12-35 does justice to the world of sound that comes out of the famous D-35 body style. It was built with a Sitka Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides that keep the mid range punchy and the low-end supportive without sacrificing any sparkle from the shimmering highs.
The woods on this guitar are settled and worn from decades of life which gives this piece that true vintage feel that cannot be replicated. It truly is one of those instruments that resonates throughout your whole body while playing. The Mahogany neck with Ebony board and bridge are great for dynamic versatility. Whether you're going to be strumming lightly or strongly the tone woods result in a natural response to your hands that make this 12 string capable of anything you may need it for. The D-12-35 was made with a 1.88 in. nut width and a 24.88 scale length that is comfortable for the size of this instrument. The slotted headstock has more downward pressure across the nut resulting in even more tonal resonance from the instrument. The 16" Radius makes for a comfortable flat fretboard radius that is easy to chord on.
George has set up this guitar in Eb Standard Tuning for a relief of tension on the top and neck woods, this is for the safety and longevity of this instrument, which allows it to play comfortably without stressing any of the woods on the guitar. There is light body checking on the top finish. This guitar comes with a hardshell case.
