This Relic P Bass from the Fender Custom Shop captures the look, feel, and vibe of a Vintage instrument with astounding authenticity. Finished in Super Faded Aged Olympic White, this bass has all the physical hallmarks of an often-played but much-loved instrument. From weather checks to wear spots, dings and dents to a stripped neck, this bass feels like a perfectly broken-in instrument, thanks to thousands of in-hand hours.
The neck is made from Quartersawn Maple and has a '60s P Oval C Neck Profile. Our calipers measured .875" at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th. The fingerboard is made from AAA-rated Rosewood, it has a 7.25" fingerboard radius, and 45085 frets. 1.75" nut width, a bone nut, and 34" scale length help cover the neck numericals.
A single Handwound 62 Spec P Bass Pickup thumps, punches, and growls. It's tied to a master volume and master tone. A great P doesn't need a lot of onboard bells and whistles because what it does have sounds so darn good!
