This Used 1983 Flynn Guitars A-440 No 10 Electric Guitar in Cherry Burst is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned as it was just refretted and Pleked with 6150 fret wire, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar is a hardshell case.
This guitar was built by Pete and Michael Flynn, 2 of our favorite employees! This guitar was made in 1983 and has undergone several changes over the years. Most notably, the body had been outfitted with a Kahler Tremolo at some point. Pete Flynn recently removed the bridge and installed a new figured maple slice of wood in the bridge cavity, and then routed it for an NOS G&L Tremolo. The Kahler Nut Lock was also removed, and the holes were plugged. Overall, the guitar is in nice shape, though it has been played, so it shows typical wear for a 30+ year old guitar that has been treated well.
The body is made from solid Birdseye Maple (hence why it weighs as much as it does). It has the swatch of flamed/figured maple outlined by 2 Ebony runners. You can feel the area, it's not 'table flat' across the swatch but it's pretty close.
The neck is made from Maple, and it is topped with a Rosewood Fingerboard. The neck profile was modeled after a 60s Strat neck, so it has that slim C profile that tapers up to a fuller feel as the frets climb. A 7.25" fingerboard radius and 6150 frets give this neck a very playable surface to work with.
