This Used 1997 PRS Santana I in Santana Yellow is here on consignment. The guitar is in fantastic shape. We don't like to use the term Mint here, but this thing looks brand new! It was either exceptionally well-cared for, or it didn't see much playtime. Judging from the unworn frets, my guess is it was more of a Case Queen than a regular player. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
The Santana I was produced for a limited time, from 1995 to 1998. It features a mahogany body with a stunning figured maple top. A distinctive feature is the use of Paua shell purfling on the body, adding a touch of elegance.
The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. It has a shorter 24 1/4" scale length and an 11.5" radius fretboard, which is a unique combination designed for Santana's playing style, offering a "slinkier feel" and making bends easier. The fingerboard features the classic PRS bird inlays, and the headstock has the iconic PRS eagle inlay, and a special "OM" symbol inlay on the truss rod cover.
Equipped with 2 Santana Spec Humbuckers, this guitar has the thick, singing tones Carlos Santana is known for. With exposed Zebra Coils, this guitar has a great look!
