This Nocaster Heavy Relic features a well-worn look that is loaded with mojo! The Faded Nocaster Blonde finish features dirty weather checking, a strum-wear spot, dings, dents, all the hallmarks of a well-traveled guitar! The body is made from Swamp Ash, a bright-sounding tonewood with a top-notch KERRANG! when you strum it.
The neck is made from Rift Sawn Maple and carved to a U Profile. It measures .920" deep at the 1st fret and .990" deep at the 12th. It's a full feeling neck in all positions! It features a compound fingerboard radius that goes from 7.25" to 9.5" for a subtle but noticeable shift, especially when making big bends up high.
A set of handwound Nocaster Pickups capture the tone of the original Blackguard Telecasters perfectly. The bridge pickup bites and barks, clucks and struts with the bets of them. The neck pickup, originally designed to help produce darker, jazzier tones, has a more muted, warmer, richer sound that lacks the explosive attack of the bridge pickup, thanks in part to its chrome cover. The combo of the 2 pickups is pure magic and to my ears, is about as Acoustic sounding as you can get an electric Fender to sound! This guitar features a blend control in lieu of a master tone.
