This Fender Custom Shop 72 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic in 3-Color Sunburst is brand new and weighs 8 lbs. This is a beautiful guitar with an Alder Body, 3-Color Sunburst, and a Journeyman Relic level of distressing. The Large Headstock and "Bullet" Truss Rod Adjustment behind the nut absolutely scream 70s Strat!

We've had all of the quirky anomalies taken out of the 70's Stratocaster. We've improved on things like a , two piece alder body, tighter neck pocket, thicker cap fingerboard, 9.5 radius so the notes don't choke out when you're making those big bends, medium jumbo frets, two piece tremolo with steel saddles, not cast. We've also gone with the early '72 design with the single string tree and the countersunk pickguard screws. So if you've always wanted a 70's Strat that doesn't have the common headaches, we've got it! Our 72 Strat features one of the most playable Strat necks. The 69 U Profile is full but not bloated, measuring .85" deep at the 1st fret and .91" at the 12th. We've gone with an AAA-Rated, 9mm Indian Rosewood fingerboard, with plenty of fingerboard left for a board plane or two over the decades! We choose 6150 frets for this model for a slightly shorter and wider fret than the 6105, which make it easier to play in tune. It also has the bullet truss rod that adjusts behind the nut for easier adjustments. 

The body is made of Alder and it features a great looking 3-Color Sunburst nitrocellulose finish. This guitar features a Journeyman Relic level of distressing for a lightly aged but well-cared for look. 

A trio of Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster Pickups are installed in this guitar. These pickups have lower output and a much brighter and bell-like tone than the pickups of the early 60s. A master volume, 2 x tone controls, and a 5-way pickup selector switch cover the electronics.
