This Used 2004 Gibson Custom Shop Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom in Black is here on consignment. It weighs in at 8 lbs 15 oz. It is in clean cosmetic shape and it is fully functioning. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Black Gibson's are known for showing any signs of wear very quickly. The fact that this guitar still looks as good as it does is a testament to how little playing time it has seen. Included with the guitar are the original hard shell case and Orange Certificate of Authenticity.
The Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom has been reissued a few times over the years. This model is from 2004 as far as we can tell. It's the typical uncovered 3 pickup Les Paul Custom in Black that absolutely screams PETER FRAMPTON! The neck pickup is a 57 Classic, the middle pickup is a 57 Classic +, and the bridge is a ripper with the 500T. The switching and volume controls are ultra-funky and will take a little getting used to.
The neck is made from Mahogany and carved to a Slim C profile according to Mr. Frampton's preferences. An Ebony Fingerboard carries a 12" fingerboard radius along with Medium-Jumbo frets for a very easy playing experience. The fingerboard is bound for the classic Les Paul Custom look. 24.75" scale length is classic Gibson and 1 as is 11/16" nut width.
The body is made from weight relieved mahogany and then topped with a carved maple top. This classic tonewood combo offers beef, body, and some sweet top-end compression. Finished in Ebony, and then bound with the traditional Les Paul Custom appointments along with gold hardware, this is one of the most striking and easily recognized Les Paul there is!
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
