The Epiphone Les Paul™ Standard 50s Figured pays tribute to the legendary Gibson Les Paul Standard models of the 1950s. Revered by players and collectors alike, these iconic "Bursts" are celebrated for their beauty, smooth playability, and unmistakable tone, earning a place on countless stages and recordings throughout music history.
Inspired by Gibson, the Les Paul Standard 50s Figured captures the look, feel, and sound of those classic instruments while honoring Epiphone's long-standing connection with Les Paul himself. That relationship dates back to 1940, when Les Paul built one of the world's first solidbody electric guitars, known as "The Log," while working evenings at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. That groundbreaking instrument would ultimately inspire the Les Paul Standard.
Built with a mahogany body and a maple cap topped with a highly figured maple veneer, the Les Paul Standard 50s Figured combines the rich midrange character of mahogany with the added brightness of maple. The figured maple veneer gives the guitar the appearance of a much more expensive instrument.
The mahogany neck features a 1959 Rounded Medium C profile and a long neck tenon for added stability and sustain. A rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays, while the Kalamazoo-style headstock is equipped with Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners and a Graph Tech® nut for dependable tuning stability.
At the bridge, an Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge works together with a LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece to provide a secure string anchor. Electronics include a pair of Epiphone ProBucker™ humbuckers, with a ProBucker 1 in the neck position and a slightly hotter ProBucker 2 in the bridge for balanced performance across all three pickup selector positions. The pickups are wired to CTS® potentiometers using 50s-style wiring, and the controls are finished with gold Top Hat knobs and dial pointers.
A premium gig bag is included for convenient transportation and protection.
