This used 2015 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 1964 Telecaster Relic by John Cruz Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst JC2768 is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar are the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
The Solid, Rosewood Neck is the real highlight of this Masterbuilt Tele. Its 1-piece rosewood construction helps give this guitar a warm, rich, sustain-filled tone that blooms with time. The neck is carved to a mid-60s oval C-neck profile. The fretboard radius is 7.25" and it has vintage-sized frets on it for a purely vintage fretboard feel. Classic Fender appointments like a 1.65" nut width and 25.5" scale length cover the neck numericals.
A pair of hand-wound pickups from Josefina are installed in this beast. The neck pickup is a Texas Special, while the bridge is a Broadcaster. This is a great combo for anyone who finds the traditional Tele neck pickup a bit on the dull side. The Texas Special brings the heat and pushes your amp into drive mode a little earlier. A master volume and master tone controls are tied to a 3-way pickup selector switch.
As many of us know, John Cruz is no longer with Fender Custom Shop, so his guitars have been sought after since his dismissal. This guitar remains testimony to the fact that this dude can build one heck of a guitar!
