This Fender Custom Shop Ancho Poblano Stratocaster Relic in Black weighs a mere 7 lbs 4 oz! Trust me when I say, Strats this light are getting much harder to come by! And, this is the 2nd iteration of the Ancho Poblano Strat, this time with a much slimmer 60s Style Strat neck.
Still loaded with a trio of Hand-Wound Ancho Poblano Strat pickups, this guitar brings the heat! But it's a smokier heat this time, less prickly than the Texas Specials. They also clean up and play nicely, much better than the TS. A master volume, 2 tone controls, and a 5-way switch round out the controls.
The neck on this, the 2nd version of the Ancho Poblano Strat, is slimmed down and feels very typical of a 60s Style Oval C Profile. It measures .780" deep at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th fret. These are the same depth dimensions you'll find on our 63 Strats. However, the fingerboard on this one is Maple. It has a 9.5" fingerboard radius, 6150 frets, 1.65" nut width, and 25.5" scale length.
The body is made from Roasted Alder. The roasting process cooks out moisture, sugars, and other impurities from lumber and makes it more dimensionally stable. Finished in black nitrocellulose, topped with a white 1-ply pickguard, and then relic'ed this is a great looking Strat!
