This Used 2010 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 60th Anniversary Esquire Relic in Black is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the original frets are still crowned. There is no truss rod in this guitar, though the neck is very fat.
This guitar is part of a Limited Edition run Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Esquire from 2010. The guitar is in very nice shape as it hasn't been played much over the last 15 years. It features a slim 100-year-old pine body which helps the guitar weigh just over 6 lbs. It's finished in Black Nitrocellulose and then aged at the factory for a classic Relic look.
The neck is made from rift-sawn maple and is exceptionally straight-grained on the back. This level of quality wood is important since this neck has no truss rod, just like they were in 1950! It's carved to a fairly hard V profile that is fat and full-feeling in every position. With 7.25" fingerboard radius and vintage frets, this guitar is a period-correct recreation.
A pair of Abigail Ybarra Handwound Pickups are installed in this guitar which sound beyond phenomenal. They are tied to a master volume, master tone, and 3 way pickup selector switch. Finding your tone is easy since this thing sound great no matter the setting!
