This Used 2022 Fender Custom Shop LTD 1959 Jazzmaster Journeyman Relic in '55 Desert Tan is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
The color of this Jazzmaster is listed as 55 Desert Sand but it sure looks an awful lot like Olypmic White to these tired eyes! It features moderately heavy "dirty" weather checking for a great aged look. The body has some light dings and dents on it to add to the Journeyman Relic level of distressing. With its anodized gold pickguard, this Jazzmaster reminds me of the J. Mascis Signature model from Squier.
The neck is made from Rift Sawn maple for increase stability and it is topped with a AAA-Rated Rosewood Fingerboard. The fingerboard radius is 9.5" and it has 21 x 6105 frets for a fantastic playing surface. The back of the neck is stripped of lacquer for a smooth, fast, and dry surface. The Large C Neck Profile has a moderately full feel with a 1st fret depth of .85" and 12th fret depth of .99".
A pair of handwound Jazzmaster Pickups are tied to a master volume, master tone, 3-way pickup selector and the Jazzmaster Rhythm Circuit. This is a beautiful sounding guitar, bell-like and sweet on the top end, with a warm, rich low end, especially through the Black Panel Amp of your choice!
