This Used 2021 Fender Custom Shop Ltd '51 Telecaster Relic in Aged Butterscotch Blonde is here on trade. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar are the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
This slick, early 50s Tele features a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucker in the neck position, mounted in a pickup ring. This pickup turns a Tele from being a bit muted and dull, to being thick and robust-sounding with a penchant for overdrive and gain. Paired with the Crushed Blackguard Bridge pickup, which clucks and struts with the best of 'em, you have a sonically versatile guitar with what some would argue provides the best of both tonal worlds.
The body is made from Swamp Ash, so it has that super bright Kerrang to it that Alder seems to swallow. A rift-sawn maple neck ensures stability through the seasons. Speaking of the neck...
It features a 10/56 Profile that is on the large side. Measuring in at .91" at the 1st fret and .99" at the 12th, this is one of the larger 10/56 necks we've seen in recent memory. It also features 6105 frets and a 9.5" fingerboard radius for an updated fingerboard feel. The back of the neck is stripped of lacquer, and the fingerboard has that fairly worn and dirty look you'd expect to see on a Heavy Relic.
This is a great-looking guitar with some fantastic specs and pickups. The aging on the guitar looks fantastic, as the patina on the body teamed with the Aged Butterscotch finish looks totally legit. With the pickup ring around the humbucker, it's impossible not to want to pull the low E string off, open tune it, and play through your favorite Stones tunes! Want your own Micawber, well, here ya go!
