This Used 1964 Fender Jaguar in Candy Apple Red with Matching Headstock is on consignment. This guitar is 100% original aside from the strings. The neck date is April of 1964, and the pot codes hit the 50th week of 1964.
The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned with some very minimal wear in the 1st position, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
It's in fantastic shape, we've counted 9 lacquer checks on the back of the body, and four or five dings in the body that do make it through the Candy Apple Red, exposing the undercoat(s). It still has the ashtry bridge cover, and the mute pad is still present as well.
It features the "A" nut width. The 'A' means a narrow nut that measures just a scosh over 1.5". Back in the day, Fender had 3 nut widths available for custom order. This guitar was custom-ordered with the A Nut Width, the custom color of Candy Apple Red, AND the matching headstock. So at the time, this was a particularly pricey Fender given that, at the time, the Jaguar was the top-of-the-line guitar. Adding in 3 custom options certainly drove the price up!
This truly is an exceptional vintage guitar. Finding another Jaguar in Candy Apple Red with the A Nut Width, AND a matching headstock would be quite the task!
