This Used 1970 Gibson SG Junior Large Guard in Vintage Cherry is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. The body features normal wear and tear for a guitar of this age. It's not minty fresh or heavily worn, but it's been played just by someone who treated it fairly well. Included with the guitar is the original case.
This era of SG has a chunky neck in terms of depth but it's fairly slim regarding nut width. With 1st fret depth of .94" and 12th fret at a whopping 1.13" this neck is absolutely massive but the slim nut with of 1 and 9/16" makes it not feel quite as thick. The neck is made from Mahogany and the fingerboard is Rosewood.
The single bridge pickup is a P-90. A master volume control and master tone control are the only other electronic controls on the guitar. This is a great sounding rock guitar. Plugged into a cranked up tube amp, this is an inspiring guitar to play!
