This Used 1999 Gibson Nick Lucas Reissue Acoustic Guitar in Vintage Sunburst is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Overall, the guitar is in very clean cosmetic shape, especially considering its age. Its original owner took great care of this instrument! Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
The Nick Lucas Signature model Gibson is a sweet little Parlor Guitar with some added body depth for a much richer sound than one might expect. The combo of Spruce and Maple gives this guitar a big tone, but with 4.75" depth, we get pretty close to the bass response one would expect from a 000/OM. Great for strumming or fingerpicking, this is a phenomenal couch guitar that would also do quite well in the studio thanks to its balanced tone.
The back and sides are made from some very nicely figured Maple. The figuring is a little on the wild side, which gives it a unique look. The figuring is accentuated perfectly by the incredible nitrocellulose Vintage Sunburst finish that has patina'd nicely over the last 27 years.
The neck is made from mahogany, and it is topped with a gorgeous Rosewood fingerboard. The neck is on the chunky side, which works wonders for the chordal player. It has 14 frets clear of the body, so it has a longer feel than Parlors with only 12 frets clear. This really is a phenomenal sounding and playing guitar that remains in exceptional condition even after 27 years on this planet!
