Sitka Spruce is the wood selected for the top. This is the most often used tonewood in the construction of stringed and fretted instruments. From guitars to mandolins and violins, this is simply the best wood one can be used to project sound!
The back and sides are made from Mahogany. A harmonically focused and powerful sounding tonewood perfect for accompanying vocals.
The neck is made from "select hardwood" which I believe means it is made from Sapele. This is a great substitute for mahogany since it's actually a bit harder. A little more stability never hurt, especially here in the midwest! The fingerboard is made from Ebony, and we all know how revered and coveted this magical tonewood is. The neck is carved to Martin's Low Oval Profile and has their High-Performance Neck Taper.
