The Taylor 412ce-R features a Sitka Spruce Top and upgraded Indian Rosewood back and sides. The classic tonewood combo of Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood has been around for decades. These woods are the perfect pairing when you want harmonically dense, rich, warm sounds with a bright, articulate top-end. The body Grand Concert Body Size features a Venetian Style Cutaway for easy high fret access.
The neck is made from tropical mahogany and it has a satin finish on it for an always smooth, fast, and dry feel. The fingerboard is made from West African Crelicam Ebony. Taylor's Renaissance Inlays adorn the fingerboard and the headstock overlay. The fingerboard radius measures in at 15" for a uniformly flat feel. Black binding is used on the fingerboard as well and provides a more subtle look than white. 24 and 7/8" Scale Length keeps the strings feeling a little on the slinky side. 12 Gauge Strings feel like 11's which means more practice time due to less finger fatigue.
