This Fender Custom Shop 50s Telecaster Relic in Shell Pink has a 1 Piece Swamp Ash Body! Uniform resonance and a vibrant playing experience come stock on this, our most favorite Custom Shop Exclusive model!
Swamp Ash is just Ash that grew next to a water supply. The result is lighter wood than Northern Ash, hence better for guitars! We order these with a one-piece Swamp Ash Body that is always toneful. This wood produces bright tones with a strong acoustic kerrang, it really is the perfect wood for a Tele! The vibrant feel of the body is always inspiring, and their light-weight is always appreciated! This guitar weighs 6 lbs 13 oz.
The neck is made from Quartersawn Maple for added stability over flat-sawn wood. It is carved to a Soft V profile, though there really isn't much of a V at all! It measures .850" deep at the first fret and .990" deep at the 12th fret. It has a nice medium-sized feel that works well for both Strat and Tele players. We order these with a 9.5" fingerboard radius, 6105 frets, 1.65" nut width, and a bone nut.
The pickups are a set of Twisted Tele Single Coil Pickups tied to a master volume, master tone, and three-way pickup selector switch. These pickups are steeped in the 1950s Fender Sauce but with some Modern Spice thrown in to make them more applicable to today's amps.
We almost never see these on trade because once you find a great Tele you keep it. It's a staple of any well-rounded guitar collection and these have proven not only to be the shop favorite but more importantly, a player favorite!
