This Gibson ES-335 Figured Top Semi-Hollow in Antique Natural weighs 7 lbs 15 oz. The coveted and revered ES-335 Model gets some aesthetic upgrades like a beautiful Figured Maple outer veneer and some Small Block Inlays. These two touches add some nice visual elements to an already legendary guitar!
The body of the ES-335 is considered Semi-Hollow. This means there is a block of wood through the center of the guitar where the pickups and bridge are mounted. This not only reduces the weight of the guitar but also gives it stronger acoustic principles like a strong and thick low-end. The body is made from laminated woods and has the nicely figured outer ply with a layer of poplar and then maple. Finished in Antique Natural with 100% Nitrocellulose lacquer, this guitar is truly stunning!
The neck is made from Mahogany and carved to Gibson's Round C Profile. This is a medium-full feeling neck, bigger than a Slim Taper but not as full as their legendary 1950s models. The fingerboard is made from Rosewood and it features a 12" fingerboard radius. 22 Medium-Jumbo Frets provide you with a smooth-as-glass playing surface, equal parts easy to play and inspiring.
The pickups are a pair of Calibrated T Type Humbuckers. From Country to Jazz, and everything in between, this one guitar can convincingly cover a wealth of genres. Each pickup has a volume and tone control and is accessible via the 3-way pickup switch either along or in tandem.
