If there is a guitar from the PRS line that changed things for many players, it's gotta be the Hollowbody II with Piezo. This true Hollowbody guitar was one of the 1st to convincingly get the amplified tones of both electric and acoustic guitars in one instrument. Paul spent years dialing in the pickup system with LR Baggs and it was all time and money well spent. The HBII model comes with dual outputs, one just for the Piezo and the other that mixes/blends both systems together. Plugging it into an Acoustic Amp and Electric Amp at the same time yields an incredible experience so dense with frequency your ears won't know what hit them! In a good way if I'm being unclear :)
A sweet touch of the HBII is the figured maple top AND back. And this one is a 10 Top! This much-loved tonewood is one of the more aesthetically pleasing out there and it's made more beautiful by the deep purple burst. The sides are made of Mahogany and have not been painted or stained so they have a natural glossy mahogany look. These guitars are exceptionally lightweight, ultra-resonant, and, acoustically speaking, one of the most fun electric guitars you can play.
The neck is made from Mahogany and carved into a Pattern profile. The fingerboard is made from Rosewood and has the legendary PRS Birds' inlays. A 10" fingerboard radius, 1 and 21/32" nut width, 22 frets, and 25" scale length round out the neck specs.
Loaded with a pair of 58/15 LT Humbuckers and the Piezo System the HBII has become synonymous with. The humbuckers sound phenomenal and offer warmth, richness, and depth. The piezo provides acoustic-like tones, loaded with presence, brilliance, and the acoustic ZING! This single guitar can cover so much tonal ground, it's hard to believe!
