The PRS SE Mira always reminded me of the SG but with many of its foibles worked out. Its tuning stability is off the charts, it's not neck heavy, and the neck doesn't stick out quite as far. It has all the tones that a simple slab of mahogany can produce though. Focused, powerful, articulate, the Mira didn't reinvent the wheel, so to speak, but it did add steel belts and a wicked tread to the mix. This solid body electric guitar weighs in at 5 lbs 12 oz! That's only 2 oz heavier than the lightest solid body I have ever seen!
With instant comfort and playability and an explosive, captivating voice, the SE Mira is a guitar you won’t want to put down. Its all-mahogany body and 85/15 “S” pickups combine to create a balanced, vintage tone that can be overdriven into well-rounded rock tones without sacrificing punch and clarity. The push/pull tone control adds to the SE Mira’s versatility.
Other features include a 22-fret wide thin mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and PRS trademark bird inlays and an adjustable stop-tail bridge. The SE Mira is a workhorse guitar, comfortable, and fun to play.
The SE Series from PRS offers stellar bang for the buck! PRS Quality and rather affordable prices are a winning combination. These are also a fun platform for Modders. Trying different pickups, nut materials, pickguards, knobs, whatever!
