Hawaiian koa has long been prized for its striking appearance and distinctive tonal character, and this special-edition Grand Auditorium showcases some truly exceptional wood. Built with Select-grade Hawaiian koa, the beautifully figured back and sides display rich color variation and dramatic natural striping, while the versatile Grand Auditorium body with Venetian cutaway is equally at home on stage, in the studio, or on the couch.

Tonally, koa occupies a unique place among traditional acoustic tonewoods. It offers a focused midrange, crisp, articulate highs, and a warm, balanced low end. One of koa's most appealing qualities is how it matures with age—the more it's played, the sweeter, richer, and more open its voice becomes.

This latest generation also benefits from Taylor's redesigned scalloped V-Class bracing. By scalloping the braces, Taylor has increased overall volume, improved sustain, and added noticeably more warmth and low-end response without sacrificing the clarity and note definition that have become hallmarks of the brand. The result is a more mature, broken-in character that retains Taylor's signature articulation while delivering a fuller, more resonant voice.

Players who have traditionally leaned toward Martin or Gibson acoustics because of their stronger low-end presence may find these Next Generation Taylor models especially compelling. They offer a bigger, more balanced sound while preserving the effortless playability Taylor is famous for. Combined with the increased resonance throughout the body, the guitar feels incredibly responsive and alive in your hands.

Taylor's new Action Control Neck is another standout feature. The redesigned long-tenon neck joint extends deeper into the body, increasing stiffness at the heel and improving the transfer of vibration between the neck and body. The result is greater warmth, enhanced resonance, and a deeper, more open acoustic voice.

The Action Control Neck also introduces a new shimless adjustment system that allows for quick, precise action adjustments without removing the neck or even loosening the strings. It's a remarkably practical innovation that makes fine-tuning the guitar's playability easier than ever.

For amplified performance, the new Claria electronics system delivers natural, dynamic acoustic tone whether you're playing live, recording, or practicing through an amplifier. Developed alongside touring musicians and live sound engineers, Claria combines a redesigned under-saddle pickup with a proprietary preamp to produce a balanced, expressive amplified sound.

The controls have also been thoughtfully redesigned. Instead of mounting them through the guitar's side, Taylor has positioned the Volume, Mid Contour, and Tone controls discreetly inside the soundhole for a cleaner appearance while maintaining easy access during performance.

Visually, this limited-edition model is every bit as impressive as it sounds. Elegant appointments include a mother-of-pearl peghead logo, paua Grand Auditorium LTD fretboard inlays, a sycamore pickguard, Indian rosewood body binding, and a single-ring paua and Indian rosewood rosette. A shaded edgeburst finish highlights the incredible figuring of the koa, while the gloss body finish adds depth and dimension to the wood's natural beauty. It's a guitar that's as captivating to look at as it is to play.
