This Used 1918-1919 The Gibson Tenor Banjo with OHSC is here on consignment and it is in nice shape. With it being over 100 years old, it does show signs of aging, like tarnishing of the metal, a cracked fingerboard inlay, and a split in the fingerboard up high. It is stable and playable, though and has a great vintage tone. Included with the banjo is the original hardshell case. It still has a skin head on it. The bridge is not original and was made by Gotoh.
Banjos aren't our specialty but we've done our best to peg this down to 1918-1919 thanks in part to the internal label that you can see in the pics. The verbiage used on these labels varied over the years so that helped us narrow down the year(s) of manufacture as well.
