This Used 1978 Martin D-35 Acoustic Guitar in Natural is here on consignment. Overall, this guitar is in very nice shape for its age. There are some dings, dents, minor scuffs, and scraps. There is a repaired crack on the back of the guitar that runs for a few inches. There is also a small crack near the pickguard under the strings. It's very short, though, and shouldn't require attention with proper humidification. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
The frets are pretty low, so it would likely need a refret next time around. Right now, it plays very well. The bridge is original and has not been reglued. It appears as though this guitar has not had a neck reset yet.
The D-35 is known for its 3 Piece Rosewood Back and bound fingerboard. These 2 specs make a D-35 easy to identify. This guitar has some nice slabs of wood for the back. The outer 2 elements have a band of figuring on them, which adds a unique visual element.
This guitar has a very large, rich sound, thanks to being well cared for in it's nearly 50 years of life on this planet. It has an exceptionally comfortable neck that is broken in to perfection. This is an inspiring, fun-to-play D-35 with a chunky low end, articulate mid-range, brilliant high-end, and an overall warm but bright tone that you'll only find in a well-broken-in Martin.
