This Used 2023 Fender Custom Masterbuilt MVP '69 Stratocaster Super Relic by Jason Smith in Black is here on trade. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar are the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
Originally ordered by Make'n Music as part of their MVP Series, this 1969 Stratocaster Super Relic is a truly exceptional guitar. Jason Smith not only knows how to build them, but he also knows how to add in loads of mojo via some of the best heavy relic jobs from the Custom Shop. And this is a heavy relic, a super-heavy relic according to the shop traveler!
The neck is made from plain maple and is carved to the 69 U Profile. It measures .850" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. It's a full-feeling neck without feeling bloated or cumbersome. It has a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 6105 frets for a highly playable guitar. Its nut width is slightly wider than vintage at 1.6875" for a little extra wiggle room on the fingerboard. It also has a 4-bolt design, and the bullet truss rod adjusts behind the nut.
The pickups are a set of Masterdesign Limited Single Coils that provide a bevy of quintessential Strat tones. A master volume, two tone controls, and a 5-way switch cover the controls. An S1 switch is installed, which allows you to add the neck and bridge pickups in all positions.
