This Used 2015 Fender Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in Aged Black is here on trade. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar are the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. This is a super light weight Strat at just 7 lbs 1 oz!
Well, the term Heavy Relic has certainly taken on new meaning since this one was created! By today's standards, I say this is more of a Medium Level of distressing but who cares! The certificate of authenticity says Relic but the Shop Traveler indicates Heavy Relic. It's a classic-looking Black Strat with a darkly tinted, flame maple neck. It has a great vibe and is nice and resonant thanks to its light weight Swamp Ash body.
The neck is made from AA Flame Maple and tinted with dark tint. The back of the neck is stripped for a fast and dry feel. The fingerboard shows typical relicing. The neck profile is a 10/56 that measures .880" at the first fret and .990" at the 12th. If you dig soft v neck profiles, this one is very comfy. The fingerboard radius is 9.5" and it has 6105 Frets installed. Traditional specs of 25.5" scale length and 1.65" cover the important details.
The pickups are a set of Fat 50s Single Coil's. These have a classic, 50s era sound but with some changes to make them play better with modern amplifiers and pedals. These pickups have many followers who have requested them in builds over the years. They are tied to a master volume, 2 tone controls, and a 5-way pickup selector switch.
