This Used 1956 Martin 00-28G Acoustic Guitar in Natural is here on consignment. The back of the guitar at the lower bout suffered an injury somewhere along the way, and a small (about 1"x1") square of wood has been replaced, as has a strip of binding along the same area. The top of the guitar has one long indentation on the treble side, there is a similar mark on the back as well. There is a spot of unusual finish wear on the bass side of the back, possibly due to a chemical reaction with the finish or perhaps from getting a little wet there. The A and G tuning keys are slightly bent but are still fully functional.
Overall, this is a very nice instrument from the Martin Guitar company. It has a warm, rich tone, with a nice snap to it as well. The neck is very comfortable and feels perfectly broken in. For its age, this guitar is in pretty nice shape, so it was definitely treated with love and respect.
With back and sides made of Brazilian Rosewood, this is a guitar that is primed to continue accruing value as the years tick by. It has a comfortable 00 body size which is perfect for long hours while seated.
