This Used 2020 PRS Wood Library Special Semi Hollowbody in Blood Tiger is here on trade and weighs in at 7 lbs 4 oz. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with this electric semi-hollow body guitar is its original hardshell case.
The PRS Wood Library is a special place where you'll find some of the most impressive lumber you'll ever lay your eyes upon. The only place with nicer wood is The Vault, located next to Paul's office. Check out our videos touring the wood library and selecting the woods on our own builds, here! Willcutt Guitars ordered this batch of guitars and they decided to put 10 Tops on these otherwise Wood Library Guitars. So this guitar carries the 10 on the back of the headstock in the top right corner.
The body is made from Swamp Ash and then chambered to attain its semi-hollow status. This reduces the weight of the guitar but also adds some cushy low-end to its tonal palette along with adding some stronger acoustic principles. The single F-Hole on the bass-side of the guitar adds a cool visual element to its already impressive aesthetics.
The neck is made from Highly Figured Torrefied Maple. Heat Treating Maple adds to its dimensional stability. If you are interested in learning more about this process, check out Matt's Blog Post that covers it in detail. This Maple Neck pairs very well with the swamp ash body helping provide a touch of added brightness to this guitar.
The Special Semi-Hollow has a sweet combo of pickups and features that make it exceptionally versatile. The semi-hollow construction relieves some weight and also adds a nice cushion of low-end, filling out its sound, both acoustically and when plugged in. A trio of PRS-wound pickups comes stock in the Special. A pair of 58/15MT humbuckers along with a Narrowfiled humbucker in the middle cover the pickups. A master volume, master tone, 5-way pickup selector, and 2 mini toggle switches that coil tap each pickup.
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, gets cleaned, then some fresh strings, and a full set-up before being put up for sale. We often even put guitars with worn frets through our Plek machine if need be! Rest assured, any Used Guitar from The Music Gallery has certainly passed its physical!
