This Used 2023 Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue in Double Gold w/Dark Back is here on consignment. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. The guitar remains in very nice cosmetic shape with some light tarnishing of the hardware, a couple of light impressions and scratches on the back, and some light pickguard wear, as well.
1957 was the Year that Gibson introduced their PAF Humbuckers! This reissue guitar celebrates The Gold Top, with a beautiful nitrocellulose, metal flake finish that was the Original Gibson color. Just a year later in 1958, the Sunburst was introduced but for those first few formative years at Gibson, a Gold Top finish was the standard!
The 57 LPS features a full feeling neck profile, a pair of unpotted Custombucker Humbuckers with Alnico III magnets, a long neck tenon, and hide glue construction. All the wood components are top-notch. A mahogany body is topped with a plain piece of maple while the neck is made from Mahogany with a Rosewood fretboard. The fingerboard and body are bound for a classic Gibson look.
