This Fender Custom Shop Ancho Poblano Stratocaster Relic in Grafitti Yellow sports a Slim 60s C Neck Profile instead of the large Nocaster U Profile from previous versions! With a much friendlier neck for the Strat-Strummer, the Ancho Poblano has never been more playable!
The Ancho Poblano Strat still has the same great hand-wound set of pickups that it gets its name from but it now has a Roasted Alder Body and, as previously mentioned, a much thinner neck! The body is relic'ed but the neck was treated to a Closet Classic level of distressing on the fingerboard, while the back of the neck is stripped of lacquer.
The neck is made from Quarter-Sawn Maple and is carved to a 60s Oval C. It measures .970" deep at the 1st fret and .930" deep at the 12th fret. The fingerboard radius is 9.5" and 6150 Frets give you the perfect surface to work with. A scale length of 25.5" and a nut width of 1.65 provides a classic Fender feel.
The Fender Custom Shop Handwound Ancho Poblano Stratocaster Pickup set is quickly becoming a favorite for players who prefer some heat from their single-coil pickups. The Ancho Poblano Pickups are rooted deeply in the Vintage World but with modern know-how and a few tweaks that make these pickups play nice in just about every scenario. With Alnico 3 Magnets and Formvar Wires in the neck and middle and Alnico 5 Magnets and enamel wires on the bridge pickup, we get the perfect blend of modern and vintage in one pickup set! The Handwound Ancho Poblano pickups took a 50s based Fender recipe and added some seriously smokey heat to the mix!
