Alder is the most often used tonewood throughout the history of Fender. This tonewood does a magnificent job at staying out of the way of the pickups and lets them do their thing without a ton of coloration. Maple was selected for the neck material and it is carved to Fender's modern C profile. A Pau Ferro Fingerboard carries a 12" fingerboard radius and has 20 medium jumbo-sized frets. 1.5" Nut Width and 34" scale length combine for a classic feeling Jazz Bass.
