The Gibson Les Paul Classic in Ebony has been a long-time favorite of those players that prefer the much loved Slim Taper Neck and Gibson's hotter humbucking pickups. Fast and easy, the slim neck allows players to get in as many notes as possible with as little fatigue as possible. Fat Neck Lovers need not apply!
The Gibson Les Paul Classic combines the early 60's style Les Paul model with some functional and time-tested modifications. As expected, the LP Classic is crafted with a mahogany back and maple top. This classic tonewood combo is the perfect blend of beef and top-end compression. The bodies of the Les Paul Classic have not chambered or weight relieved at all so it's got the heft that Les Paul's have been known for.
The mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard keep the ingredients of this recipe classic. The neck is carved to the SlimTaper Profile which is the preferred neck shape for those about to RAWK! This slim, shred-friendly neck is exceptional and that's why it has found its way onto so many models over the decades. A 12" fingerboard radius, 22 Medium-Jumbo frets, and 24.75" scale length combine for that classic Gibson feel.
60s Burstbuckers in Zebra, with open-coils provide classic Gibson tones from the era with a bit of extra calrity thanks to the open coils. The control assembly features 4 push-pull pots that provide choices of coil tapping, phase switching, and pure bypassing for functional and versatile sonic variety.
It still boggles my mind how this particular model comes in priced so affordably but get one while you can as the Classic is set to be discontinued!
