Regular price Sale

The Taylor 214ce-K Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric guitar offers the incredible tonal contributions of Koa at a price point much lower than one would expect! With a solid Sitka Spruce Top and Layered Koa Back and Sides, you get a wonderfully bright sounding guitar, that is articulate, focused, and perfect to sing along with!

A Solid Spruce Top starts the 214ce-K off right. Violin's, Cello's Upright Basses, Ukulele's, Mandolins, Guitars, and just about every other stringed instrument you can name has SOME component made of Spruce on it. However, the top is what Spruce is most known for. A good piece of Spruce is loud when you knock on it and in doing so produces more body than you'd expect from something so light. If you drop it, it bonks instead of plinks. It amplifies whatever resonance you transfer into it which is EXACTLY THE POINT of an instrument top. Denser, heavier woods are harder to get to resonate. Some woods swallow, others project. Spruce projects. This wood is perfect for instruments due to its lively expressiveness. Laminate or Layered Koa is used for the back and sides. To my ears, this wood sounds very much like Mahogany but with the treble cranked up a couple of notches. It has the uniformity, the articulation, and the focus of mahogany but with an open and airy top end that many players flock to. This Hawaiian Tone Wood is getting rarer with every build utilizing it.

Other shockingly premium features include a Sapele Neck, the fingerboard, and the bridge are made from West African Ebony, and the Taylor ES-2 (or Expression System 2) lets you hit the stage, studio, rehearsal, where ever, 100% equipped.

Taylor Guitars has been around since 1974 and Bob Taylor has been there every step of the way. Taylor Guitars changed the entire Acoustic Guitar industry making them more playable, easier on the fingers, and more and more tuneful. From incorporating modern manufacturing techniques that have allowed for much easier repairs to developing great-sounding but easy-to-use electronic systems, Taylor Guitars has always been THE player-driven acoustic guitar manufacturer.
