This Taylor GTe Urban Ash Grand Theatre Acoustic-Electric in Natural is brand new, comes with its full manufacturer's warranty and original hardshell case. Bob Taylor continues on with his impressive commitment to the environment using Urban or Shamel Ash, made from trees culled by municipal governments in California and Arizona.
Things get started with a Sitka Spruce Top. This is the wood most often used for tops in the world of Acoustic Guitars. It's also used on just about every other stringed instrument made thanks to its exceptional tonality. This wood projects beautifully and offers balance throughout the tonal spectrum.
Urban Ash is the name giving to the lumber that Bob Taylor is sourcing for a host of new models. Shamel Ash trees grow exceptionally fast so it makes for an Eco-Friendly guitar material. This wood sounds very much like mahogany. It's focused, articulate, and well-balanced, perfect to sing over.
24.1" Scale Length offers very slinky feeling strings that will be fairly easy on the fretting fingers. This shorter scale length also takes some of the snappy, crispness away from a steel string. Don't get me wrong, it still has that twang but just not as much.
The neck is made from Tropical Mahogany and topped with a Eucalyptus Fingerboard. This is yet another substitute or alternative material Taylor Guitars is implementing. Taylor's Standard Neck Carve means this guitar feels as great as every other Taylor you've ever played! 1.719" Nut Width gives us a slightly slim feel. This, teamed with the smaller body design seems like the perfect pairing for someone a little smaller in stature or for someone who just likes a small guitar.
This guitar comes loaded with Taylors Expression System 2. This amazing electronic system sounds fantastic no matter what you plug it into. An onboard volume, bass, and treble control make sorting out your sound very easy.
From the Taylor Website...
An exciting new entry into the world of acoustic-electric guitars, the GTe Urban Ash debuts a new body shape that’s sure to inspire players of all skill levels with its compact frame, accommodating feel, and robust acoustic voice. The GT (Grand Theater) features a scaled-down body that echoes the jumbo curves of our Grand Orchestra shape, with its dimensions reduced to create a remarkably approachable feel. The innovation extends to the GT’s interior architecture, built on a new asymmetrical bracing design called C-Class bracing. This new sonic structure brings the tonal benefits of V-Class bracing to the smaller GT body shape, producing more volume and longer sustain while also bolstering the GT’s bass response to surprising levels of low-end power from a smaller guitar. This model takes its name from the solid Urban Ash that composes its back and sides, which serve up a rich, shimmering midrange accented by pristine highs. Visually, the GT is appointed with modest details such as a three-ring koa rosette and Pinnacle inlays in Italian acrylic, preserving its accessible price point and clean aesthetic. A super-thin, water-based matte finish, paired with an Urban Sienna stain for the back and sides, reflects a dusky, alluring visual character, preserving the wood’s visual texture and allowing the player to feel the grain through the finish. Onboard ES2 electronics provide quick plug-and-play functionality when you need amplified sound. This model includes a sturdy, lightweight AeroCase™ for easy, safe transport.
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
