This Used 1936 Martin Pre-War F7 Archtop Guitar w/Brazilian Rosewood in Tobacco Burst is here on consignment. This is a Pre-War Martin that has no truss rod. There is obvious pick wear on the bass side shoulder of the guitar. This is a very old guitar so it has seen some work over the years.
- The bridge is not original.
- It has been refretted, the job was done well.
- There are 2 splits in the top that have been nicely repaired.
- There is a Rim split on the treble side that is about 4 inches
- There is a neck-heel split that was repaired well.
- The rib split has been lightly clear-coated.
- Possibly a light clear coating on the back of the guitar at some point.
- The neck pitch looks good and it's highly playable.
- We don't know if the neck was repitched but it doesn't need one at this point.
Overall, this is a very fun and inspiring guitar to play. With its arched top and double f-holes, this guitar has a strong acoustic tone. It's loud, lively and resonant.
